Firefox
is a Web browser based on the engine of Mozilla which
was the draft navigator which was created after the
release of the source code of Netscape by its publisher.
The main feature of the new Firefox is the fact that it
does not include client email which makes it lighter
than the previous one.
Firefox
takes advantage from the power of Mozilla in loading Web
pages much faster than Internet Explorer. Filters such
as ‘anti-popup’ and ‘anti-phishing’ are included for the
greater convenience and the navigation tab simplifies
switching from one window to another. Also, a
spellchecker which has been integrated into the browser
underlines errors. The browser supports RSS and offers a
variety of refinements that are missing in Internet
Explorer, even if Internet Explorer corrects some of
them.
The other
advantage of Firefox is the large number of extensions
that allow you customize the browser and to provide it
with an even wider variety of features. Some of the
popular ones are as follows:
·
IE Tab: to see the sites with the
rendering engine of Internet Explorer
·
All-In-One Sidebar: to add a side panel
comprising the history, downloads or certain compatible
extensions
·
FasterFox: to improve the performance of
the browser
·
ScrapBook: to capture and organize pages
or fragments
·
FoxyTunes: to control your media player
from Firefox
·
Sage: to manage and read RSS feeds
However,
it must be kept in mind that Version 3.0 is a beta, only
intended for testing purposes currently. It has not yet
been widely accepted and hence may not be as stable as
the 2.0 in this case. This software is part of the
selection that the Google Pack offers and can be
downloaded free.
Firefox is one of the best browsers at the moment. There
is only one disadvantage, which is insignificant since
it not the fault of Firefox but the website, as the
display of certain website pages is poor because they
fail to comply with the various HTML standards, even if
their numbers had already declined considerably.
Mozilla
Firefox is an Internet browser with many advantages
compared to its competitors. It is a serious alternative
to Internet Explorer, ideally suited for use in a
professional or personal capacity.
One of
the main advantages of Firefox is undoubtedly its
security. It becomes, for example, impossible for a site
to execute a program without your permission! The
changing of home pages or getting toolbars installed
without your knowledge etc. - all these annoying
intrusions are eliminated with Firefox!
Then,
there is the speed with which the browser displays site
pages; Firefox will help you rediscover the Web! The
search engine for used pages, Gecko, meets existing
norms and standards on the Web. This guarantees maximum
compatibility with the sites that are properly
programmed. Thanks to the availability of plugins, such
as Flash or Java, for example, you do not encounter any
problems with the sites using these programs.
Another feature that
will change the way you surf the Internet is the use of
tabs to open new pages. You use only one window browser,
so as not to clutter up the task bar of Windows. All
pages that you visit can be aggregated into a single bar
within Firefox.
